B & I shopping in Buffalo. First a spring coat & hat for her, at J. M. Adam,  –   then a new suit for me at A. M. A’s (Hudson’s) –

A.M. – Drawings from memory of some of the early 1919 water-colors – at Jack Baur’s request –

To express office to get two boxes from Rehn’s – One containing the small transcription of “Song of the Spring Peepers” which I had returned for Schenck’s inspection –

A cool, wet morning with a deep blue sky + bright sun - roofs + tree limbs glittering a haze arises from the ground. Elm bloom glows orange against the sky, robin songs – vivid upshooting grass with frost.

Early in the morning a fluffy snow was falling later after a series of blue holes in the sky, the sun burst forth and spattered white foam over the sky – a brief dazzle, then the wind shot wierd (sic) rythms (sic) across the sky; across them flew two bluebirds with a remote quavering call.

Call from Mr. Oppenheimer – an issue I thought was dead. He said he wanted to buy one regardless of whether I would allow him 1/3 off or not – I made arrangements to bring the pictures to his home at 4:00....the room in which they want to hang the picture done in “Williamsburg Blue” a darkish neutral blue tending to the greenish side. The water-colors looked well on it – especially the “Spring Rain in the Woods” and “East Wind and Winter Sun” – we decided either of these two would look well over the mantel.

...I imagine all kinds of things. So far these pastimes have taken me everywhere, all over the world...

So it continues all evening; the air gets colder the wind wilder and whirls the powdery snow high until finally from the last final spray of the blizzard the blinding moon is flung upwards in the black sky.

Noon – Brill air – cool wind – March sky with its three kinds of clouds – white scuds clouds, pale blue mackerel, & vivid white blending
