Gifts of Stock
You can easily gift stock from your portfolio directly to the Center
By donating appreciated stock, you can achieve a significantly greater tax deduction and avoid capital gains taxes. It’s a smart way to donate that benefits not only us, but you as well.
You can make a gift directly from your portfolio in just three simple steps:
1) Please alert us that you will be making a gift by transferring stock. Contact Kim Luangpakdy at (716) 878-4529 or at luangpkk@buffalostate.edu. This is an important step as your stock gift will arrive in our account without identification. Please include a mailing address so that your gift is properly acknowledged, and you receive a letter for your tax purposes.
2) You or your broker can then electronically transfer your gift of stock directly to the Center's account at Charles Schwab:

3) Once your gift is processed, a tax receipt will be mailed stating the name of the stock(s), the number of shares, and the date it was received by the Center. Your tax advisor can determine the value of the gift for tax deduction purposes. That's it!
