The Burchfield Penney Art Center is the museum dedicated to the art and vision of Charles E. Burchfield and the art and artists of Buffalo, NY, and our region.
The call for entries for The Sylvia L. Rosen Craft Art Biennial 2025 is now open! Presented by the Sylvia L. Rosen Endowment for Fine Art in Craft Media, the 18th juried biennial exhibition celebrates the work of Western New York artists working in glass, fiber, wood, clay, metal, and other craft forms. The exhibition will be on view November 14, 2025 – March 29, 2026 at the Burchfield Penney Art Center.
To be eligible, artists must be current or past residents of Western New York State (Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans, Wyoming, and Monroe Counties).
Artworks in glass, fiber, wood, clay, metal, and other works rooted in craft skill, form, or tradition that have been completed in the past two years will be considered. The deadline for entries is 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 13th, 2025.

Rosen Craft Art Biennial, formerly known as Art in Craft Media. The new name celebrates the legacy of Sylvia L. Rosen whose patronage championed the work of fellow craft artists and has made this exhibition possible.
Buffalo, NY (March 5, 2025) – The Burchfield Penney Art Center is thrilled to announce that thanks to a generous grant from Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, admission is now free for all K-12 students through December of 2025, including for students visiting as part of school tours.

The Burchfield Penney Art Center holds the largest public collection of works by Charles E. Burchfield (1893–1967), as well as an archive of more than 10,000 pages of handwritten journals, 25,000 drawings, and other ephemera, including a scale re-creation of the artist’s studio.
