Can a friend use my card?
Cards are non-transferable unless you have a second card that is listed as a guest without a permanent name on the card. Then your friend is welcome to use your extra card.
Will I receive an invitation to every exhibition opening?
The best way to stay up to date on exhibition openings is by email. An email invitation will be sent out before each opening or event. To put your email on the list, please contact Miggie Wong at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Do I need to purchase tickets for feature exhibitions or programs?
Most exhibition openings that are at the museum are free to members. Events in the auditorium are usually ticketed. Please call 716-878-6011 to reserve your tickets for those particular events. Depending on the performance, there may be a charge for tickets. Information will be listed on the website in the Events section, sent via email, or available at the front desk.
How can I become a member or renew my membership?
You have a few options. You can go green by purchasing or renewing your membership online or by phone (716-878-4526) with your credit card. You may also renew by mail or in person with your credit card, cash, check or money order made payable to Burchfield Penney Art Center.
How often do I need to renew my membership, and will I receive notification of when it expires?
Your membership is renewable annually. You will receive notification in the mail at least three weeks before your expiration date.
What happens if I lose my membership card?
Inform the front desk upon entry or call Miggie Wong at 716-878-4526 and a new card will be issued to you by mail.
Does my child get a membership card?
Children under 18 are not issued membership cards. For children to use the membership, they must be accompanied by an adult member.
If I purchase my membership today, when will it expire?
Memberships expire on the last day of the month they are purchased. If you purchase a membership on March 1, 2023, it expires on March 31, 2024.
May I renew multiple years at a time?
Yes, you may renew for two years in one payment if you would like. This option may only be done in person, by mail (you must indicate this on your membership form) or by phone at (716) 878-4526.
Are there payment plans available?
Yes, we offer quarterly or monthly payment options via credit card for Friend level and higher memberships. To set up your payment plan schedule, please call us at 716-878-4526.
What happens if I forget my membership card when I come to the museum for an exhibition?
Our computer system is able to verify your membership, and will allow you entry into the museum.
Does the Burchfield Penney Art Center have reciprocation with any other museums?
Yes, all members are a part of the Empire State Museum Reciprocal program and College and University Art Museums Reciprocal Program. Friend level members and higher are a part of the North American Reciprocal Museum program (NARM); and ROAM - Reciprocal Organization of Associated Museums.
