Stephan Salisbury previews Exalted Nature: The Real and Fantastic World of Charles E. Burchfield

I really felt a sense of family here at the Burchfield, between the other interns and my supervisors. There was always conversation, helping one another in our projects, and encouraging each other to be successful at the Burchfield and our ultimate goals.

These last ten weeks have gone by too quickly. Every day here was an exciting new opportunity to learn about the arts in Western New York, and I am sad that it is time to go.

Since day one of working at the Burchfield Penney I have been provided with a broad array of different projects. But surely every task I engaged with was designed to fit my needs as a museum studies student; whether in the archive or in the galleries I was persistently challenged by the diverse and nuanced tasks at hand.

The Burchfield Penney Art Center is another top-notch art gallery, dedicated to American painter Charles E. Burchfield, but showcasing other local as well as international artists as well.

On Saturday and Sunday, November 1 and 2, the Burchfield Penney docents will be holding the book sale to benefit the Docent Library.
