I suddenly realize that I am done with the shed in swamp and hollows pictures and must put them away – which I do with regret, closing a door on an adventure in imagination which was one of the happiest in my career

Returning from the city line this morning, I was startled on hearing what I thought was the song of a wood thrush...

Nighthawks with buzzing chirp call sail against the Clouds – They are my storm birds – Finally whole sky becomes grey + rain pours down – occasionally remote thunder – 

Home about 7:45 – Shortly after, Mart called – they had arrived about 1:00 + had been trying to get us. Raining again.

A.M. to Buffalo — Look at frames at Br’s [Bredemeier’s] – Downtown doing shopping for various things – to lunch with Schwanekamp & his co-workers — S- proposes a sketching trip next Saturday.
