Every second Friday of the month, the Burchfield Penney Art Center opens the doors and pulls out all the stops, transforming the act of gallery-browsing into one of active participation with multiple sensorial sign posts.

The late Buffalo artist Jeanette Blair, whose landscapes and abstractions seemed to vibrate with the thrum of nature, will be remembered in a memorial service planned for 2 p.m. March 13 in the Burchfield Penney Art Center.

Donating her works was just one of her means to raise funds for her favorite causes, including the Burchfield Penney Art Center, where she was a founding board member, and the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, where she was an honorary board member.
