glaring of the sun awakens him? We are called upon worship it; worshiping it however, with a thought of the Creator behind it all.
I awoke early this morning, and a look out into the semi-darkness, seemed to convey to my mind that a beautiful sunrise was in progress. I dressed and washed hurriedly, and then stole out into the back-yard to look. I was not disappointed, tho I did miss that mysterious appearance of the first light. The earth was enshrouded almost in darkness but over in the east the sun was beginning to light up the sky. Milton in one of his poems, speaks of a “dappled dawn.” The sky, this morning was dappled with black cloudlets, that seemed to sweeped across the faded blue sky, for the sole purpose of arriving at the point where the sun was coming. Over in the southeast was the morning star, strangely luminous, twinkling prettily. It was yet dark enough overhead to see quite a few stars.
The sky back of the clouds became a pale delicate blue, shaking into a dark shadowing blue overhead, and as the minutes passed, a delicate pink began
