35. care to make any definite thing, it is enough merely to be busy making sawdust. Sometimes the din all three of us make is terrific, but there is a kameraderie (sic) about it all that is very precious. As the confusion of sawdust, chips, and other debris mounts, I think, I must call a halt. Have started collecting the four-o’clock seeds. It is especially pleasant at evening, when the flowers are opening, and the rank over-sweet odor permeates the cooling air.
