Utilizing materials considered “byproducts”, Jozef’s art challenges viewers to consider the impact of our consumer lifestyles through his artworks. 

When comparing the watercolor painting by Charles E.Burchfield’s Wind-Blown Asters, the colors and techniques he used are somewhat similar to ceramics artists who create watercolor effects. 

I wondered if there would be anyone at Friday night's bash that was at the opening 50 years ago. 

In much the same way most Buffalo men of the era grabbed their lunch pail in the morning and worked until the whistle blew, so did Charles Burchfield.

As Buffalonians, we are proud that Charles Burchfield has long had a place among America’s great artists and helped usher in a new era of American art.
