The yellow glow, curling around each leaf blends it into the sky + the breeze stirring the foliage turns to fine feathery stuff. 

Studying the Spider-Web Tree picture eliminating many original features – all at once it occurred to me what was needed below was a lake or a small body of water, instead of a hill in shadow – 

Afternoon calm & peaceful. A few wisps of clouds appear. Sunset the “yellow light” kind. What a miracle that yellow light is coming as it does, well after the sun has dropped below the rim of the world. All things become saturated with yellow light, even our thoughts. 

How the wind prods the imagination, urging it to conjure wonderful things! The world is turning to silver. There is silver in the mist whitened sky, in  the light of the dimmed sun, in the sunlight flashing on swirling leaves. 

Some people would have called it a “second honeymoon” — but I do not know how a “first” honey—moon could have been more happy.

I felt a strong desire to once again paint in an Ohio country-side – more mellow than an Western New York country.

A glorious day full of beautiful sights and impressions it seems impossible to put them down rationally.

A day that was beautiful in every detail from first to last, and one in which I felt the wonder of nature as if it were newly created (as indeed it is perennially) and yet somehow I cannot put it down on paper.  

The fishing trip. A fine, windy day. The walk out an enjoyable one. The air is warm but fresh and the breeze is cool.
