The sight of the first flea-bane of the season always takes my breath away- There is one in full bloom at the far end of the perennial garden- It is the true flower of childhood symbolizing its purity and innocence. To look at these delicate flowers, is like gazing into the face of a sweet child, which has not lost its look of wonder.

A fine day, and a good trip. Art doing most of the driving. We were delayed in starting by a miscalculation on my part concerning the picture itself.

Stopped and picked flowers growing in and around dunes (orange-yellow flowers, wild lupine, Birdfoot violet)

Late P.M. to D.L. & W. Station to meet Evie & Mart. A happy reunion, as Sally & Red came too.

By a swift running stream—the water is clear but tinged with a transparent tobacco brown, which intensifies the colors of underwater plants. B. stretched out on her back on the warm earth—

The moon is shining clearly through the trees—the dampness of early June—romance is reborn but nostalgia holds the center of the stage

June! And I will let that exclamation mark tell it all – for now.

Sally’s visit – it was nice having her & the boys around. The boys full of life.
