One of the loveliest spring days I remember of ever having experienced. Sunny and warm; the whole earth & sky ravishingly beautiful...
Sunny & cool—P.M – Dressed and went out to the studio, looking at the wild flower garden on the way – the lawn studded with dandelions...
Cool and damp – Just at sunset time, the sun broke through the clouds, lighting up the tops of trees with the most vivid red – gold—the effects were “other-worldly”...
And it turned out to be a most pleasant outing, a good lunch, and the flowers very lavish —
Warm weather at last. Today there are still a few hepaticas in bloom – (March 23 to May 5 – seven weeks of blooming!)...

In studio—studying the picture of yesterday and marveling at the nerve I had to use so much yellow all thru the picture. It is like the blinding glory of the golden gates of Paradise...
