As course-related preparation for their student-teaching semester, 40 undergraduate art education students from Buffalo State College worked with approximately 450 at-risk urban children in grades K-8 from Buffalo Community School #53 to create paintings, prints, collages and group art projects. Each art education student, under the supervision of Cheryl Hamilton, Ph.D. and John Siskar, Ph.D. – professors at Buffalo State College – developed and presented a unit of study in art created especially for the school.
