To mark the 10th anniversary of Charles Rand Penney’s presentation of his Western New York art collection, the Burchfield Penney Art Center presented selected paintings, drawings, prints, and sculpture. Works included artist Liz Tower’s abstracted still-life painting, Red Ladder (1968), the oil painting For Joseph, a Garden (1955) by Seymour Drumlevitch, and an enamel-on-metal sculpture by Duayne Hatchett titled Study for Larger Work in White (1975). The Charles Rand Penney Collection of Western New York Art was donated in two gifts made in 1991 and 1992; in total, there are 162 works by 110 artists. Patron Charles Rand Penney made remarks at the reception held on October 26. The video “Charles Rand Penney: Profiles of an International Collector” was screened on November 15.
