This was a mid-career survey of works by artist Robert A. Booth, who was director of the State University of New York’s Arts Chairs Coalition and was chair of the art department of Fredonia State College (and is now distinguished teaching professor, sculpture curriculum, and chair of the Department of Visual Arts and New Media). The vibrantly colorful sculptures incorporated common household objects such as tables, chairs, architectural elements, and kitchen utensils to create a wry and knowing critique of contemporary cultural and aesthetic values. The exhibition was supported in part by grants from Chautauqua County and the Elizabeth Firestone Graham Foundation.
