An exhibition of Wayne Higby’s series of raku-fired, earthenware tile-sculptures manifested his combination of Eastern and Western motifs, philosophies and techniques. With imagery relating to the Southwestern American landscape, Higby created intimate, meditative sculptures that transport the viewer to a transformational space in, around and through vast canyons, placid waterways, and limitless skies. The exhibition was made possible through support from Annette Cravens and the Helen Drutt Gallery in Philadelphia. The artist gave a presentation about his work.
