Monica Angle describes Working on the Seam as,
Works that combine techniques of painting and printmaking. Using monoprint processes, I apply layers of color by transfering watermedia from a flat surface to paper, wood or canvas. Building up the color by layer captures traces left by the water as it moves across the surface. Even though I repeat a gesture, it will not appear the same way twice. These gestures combine to suggest a space as pathways and clearings form within an image. LIke the experience of recalling a place, the images generate a type of map, recording the channels upon which the image is based.
