Kathleen Giles will share her process in this hands-on workshop on how to simplify trees and suggest leaf texture with salt and a spray bottle. This simple yet delicate technique can add a new dimension to a landscape painting. Watercolor paints will be provided or bring your watercolor supplies along with a spray bottle. Watercolorists on all levels are welcome.
Kathleen S. Giles works primarily in transparent watercolor for twenty three years in a style she calls romantic realism. Giles is most inspired by dramatic lighting, no matter the subject. She has co-hosted a weekly cable show on Lockport Cable television, channel 20, entitled “Watercolor with Jody and Kathy”, since the fall of 2012. Kathleen had a painting on tour with the prestigious Blossom ll, Art of Flowers exhibit and has had paintings in national shows around the country. Her painting “Tulips on Tapestry” was accepted into the National Watercolor Society Show in California in the fall of 2012 and that painting recently won the Margaret Martin Memorial award at the Spring NFWS show.
