This workshop is a progressive series, to develop your skills over 4 weeks. Price is for all 4 classes in the series.
Description: Have you ever wanted to paint a portrait of yourself or perhaps a loved one? Over the course of four introductory classes with artist Bree Gilliam, participants will learn acrylic painting techniques, and color theory, and paint a monochromatic portrait. Bring a photograph of yourself, a friend, or a family member that you want to paint.
Week 1: Introduction to mixing colors
Week 2: Shadow tones and image tracing
Week 3: Techniques including middle tones
Week 4: Highlights, background, and finishing touches

About the Instructor
Bree Gilliam is a painter and entrepreneur living in Buffalo. Her work focuses on social issues and daily experiences that people face every day. To portray deep emotions in her work, Gilliam uses bold colors and expressive brushwork. Gilliam primarily paints portraits of friends and family. Her objective is to relate, inform, and spark conversations around her powerful portraits.
