The Language of Movement is a three-part dance concert featuring artists and performers from the City of Buffalo which will be presented in the Project Space at 6:00, 6:30, 7:00, 7:30, during the October M&T Second Friday.
The theme of this multi-media dance will revolve around resolution of conflict.
I. Conflict (Performed by Dominic Giambra)
In this first movement, "Conflict," Dominic will explore personal conflicts we encounter in our lives, highlighting the challenges we face when trying to communicate our thoughts and feelings.
II. Longing (Performed by Muriel Pontin)
The second movement, "Longing," through the graceful movements of Muriel will explore deep-seated desires and yearnings that reside within us as a reflection of the universal human experience of longing for connection and understanding.
III. Resolution (Performed by Michaela Neild)
Concluding our performance Michaela will lead us on a journey towards harmony and understanding, offering a sense of resolution to the conflicts and longings depicted earlier. It's a powerful reminder of the transformative power of language and expression.
The soundtrack for this performance was created by Michael Mandolfo and features musical compositions composed and performed by Matias Homar, as well as spoken word poetry by Marquis "Ten Thousand" Burton.
Michael Mandolfo, who created The Language Within Us with Muhammad Zaman, said of the work, "The Language of Movement will add a unique layer of meaning to our exhibit, emphasizing the intricate relationship between various forms of art and human communication."
Four 15 minute performances will be presented in the Project Space at 6:00, 6:30, 7:00, 7:30.
