Adjacent Spaces: Paintings by Karen Tashjian and Mark Lavatelli juxtaposes the work of two seasoned Western New York painters who focus on abstractions of the built and natural environment, respectively. In their creative processes, both artists apply multiple layers of paint, occasionally scraping away to reveal subtle traces of earlier brushstrokes. Like many of Tashjian and Lavatelli’s works, the historic complex of the Niagara Frontier Food Terminal is a palimpsest revealing traces of the past. Once a major hub for agricultural trade, the network of buildings has transformed into a vibrant community space, housing a variety of creative businesses & studios. It's fitting that within this artistic enclave, Tashjian and Lavatelli have established their own studios in adjacent spaces.

Members of Lazlo Hollyfeld, Rhubarb and other musical projects come together as Beu, one of the freakiest and funkiest bands that might ostensibly be considered part of the Buffalo music scene.
Bassist Nick Gonzalez, keyboardist Scott Molly, drummer Bill Wachowiak and guitarist Stoney Danza bring elements of hip-hop, acid jazz and classic soul to the party, where those influences meet and mingle with alternative rock, punk and psychedelia.
