International Center for Watercolor Artist Inspiration Series
Artist/Instructor: Jennifer Koury

*Beginner workshop, no experience necessary
Inspired by a Charles E. Burchfield watercolor painting, participants will learn from the instructor's detailed demonstration along with hands-on experimenting with watercolor paints. Participants will learn techniques including brush control, washes, wet into wet, bleeding and experiment with salt.
Supplies:
*Basic watercolor supplies are provided
Additional Optional Supplies:
Tablet/IPad to view the painting reference
Pencils and a good eraser
Paper towels
Spray bottle
Clean house sponge or a natural sponge
Old library card or stiff plastic card
2 T of table salt in a small plastic bag
Soft bristle flat brushes- 1" and larger
Latex gloves if you would like to use them
Jennifer Koury, a watercolorist, delights in the natural world's play of light and color on forms. Koury has enjoyed a rewarding career as a dedicated painter and freelance illustrator. She is published in both children's and adult based books. After graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University in Painting and Printmaking, Koury continued her studies to graduate from Art Center College of Design, California. She resides with her family in the Buffalo, New York area, where she is inspired by the natural beauty of Western New York.
