WNY Playwrights Celebrate the Work of Charles Burchfield is a collaboration between the Dramatists Guild and the Burchfield Penney Art Center. Presented with three Burchfield images--December Light, Snow Patterns, and The Horn Call from Sibelius Fifth--Western New York playwrights were invited to use one (or two, if a member of the Dramatists Guild) of the pieces to inspire a play of no more than ten minutes. The anonymous entries were sent to three judges, whose scores and comments were used to select the nine plays presented tonight.
