Here at the Burchfield Penney Art Center, we love any opportunity to combine movement and art. Art is such a wonderful tool for self-expression, in this activity, we will be using many different sensory learning techniques to encourage your little artists' creativity.
Materials:
Bubble Wrap
Canvas Board or poster board
Painters Tape
Paint
Instructions:
Place your canvas board, canvas side up on a sheet of pre-cut bubble wrap, bubble side up (make sure that the bubble wrap is cut to the size of the canvas, allowing for at least two to three inches of room around the edges.). Next, squirt globs of paint onto the canvas. Start in the center and add smaller globs of paint in each corner. Then, carefully flip the canvas board over onto the bubble wrap. Lastly, tape the bubble wrap to the canvas board (not too tight, you want there to be some room to grab the bubble wrap to move the paint around.)
Now your little artist is ready to jump, stomp, clap and play with their bubble-wrapped canvas!
This project is great fun for all ages, especially toddlers and babies who love the sensory effects of the bubble wrap. Plus, it's mess-free!
