Rachel Adams is a writer and curator based in Buffalo, N.Y. She received a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an MA in exhibition and museum studies from the San Francisco Art Institute. Upon graduating she served as a curator at Disjecta (Portland, Ore.) and at the Contemporary Austin (Austin, Texas, under director Louis Grachos, former director of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery). She has also worked as an independent curator, planning and executing exhibitions with nationally and internationally known artists. In March 2015 she became associate curator of the University at Buffalo Art Gallery. In addition to publishing essays in a number of exhibition catalogs, she is a contributing writer for several publications including artforum.com, Art Papers, Modern Painters, and Texas Architect.
