Gloria Plevin graduated from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and attended the Cleveland Institute of Art, the Cooper School of Art, as well as studying with local artists. Both a painter and printmaker, developed a style aligned with 19th-century American still-life painting, depicting subjects rendered from her daily experiences. She also owns and directs the Gloria Plevin Gallery in Chautauqua, New York, an area that thrives during the summer season. In 1993, the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio presented the solo exhibition, Gloria Plevin: Chautauqua Still Lifes and Vistas. Her work can be found in numerous local, private, and corporate collections.
