1920-unknown
Thomas Prentiss was an American still life painter born in 1920. Very few records are available detailing his life and career. Prentiss was based in New York City.[1] He primarily painted still life in the trompe l’oeil style, which uses realistic imagery to create the optical illusion that the featured subjects are three dimensional. Prentiss’ works were exhibited in the Corcoran Gallery biannual exhibition in 1959, the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts annual exhibition in 1962, and the Whitney Museum of American Art in 1962.[2]
