Stephen Merritt is a sculptor based in Rochester, N.Y. who has exhibited regionally and nationally. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Oberlin College (Ohio) in 1969 and apprenticed with Ishikawa Seiho and Inoue Manji in Japan in the early 1970s. His work is included in several museums, including the Burchfield Penney, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the Peabody Essex Museum.
