Filmmaker-poet Stephanie Gray, now based in NYC, lived in Buffalo from 1997-04 where she learned media making at Squeaky Wheel and was a volunteer and later staff. She has received a NY Foundation for the Arts Fellowship and NYSCA Distribution Funds and Finishing Funds Grants. She had a three day retrospective at Anthology Film Archives in in June '15 and has had solo shows at venues such as Microscope Gallery, Mono No Aware and Millennium Film Workshop (all currently based in Brooklyn). Her work has screened internationally at festivals such as Viennale, Oberhausen, Ann Arbor, Frameline, Antimatter, among others. In June 2015 she published her second book of poems, Shorthand and Electric Language Stars (Portable Press at Yo-Yo Labs) and a chapbook A Country Road Going Back in Your Direction (Argos Books).
