Morton Grossman's work encompasses abstract and expressionistic watercolor landscapes that deal with light, space, movement, time, and changes. He considered his work to be about color and paint, transparencies and densities, and was seemingly inspired by the changes in colors and moods of nature. He graduated from the Art Students League of New York and has taught at multiple institutions such as Kent State University, Adelphi University, Queens College of New York, and State University College at Buffalo. His works have won numerous awards such as the Gold Medal of Honor of the American Watercolor Society, the Dana Medal from Pennsylvania Academy, and the Hallmark Watercolor International amongst others. He has exhibited in galleries and museums across the country and many of his paintings are part of permanent collections including the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Birmingham Museum of Art and Norfolk Museum of Art along with various private collections in the US and Canada.
