Mitchell Messina is an artist based in Pittsford, N.Y., who works primarily with clay. He received a BS from Portland (Ore.) State University in 1984 and an MFA from the Tyler School of Art of Temple University (Philadelphia, Penn.) in 1986. His work has been exhibited throughout New York state, as well as Pennsylvania (Wayne Art Center, 2007), Kentucky (Kentucky Museum of Art, Louisville, 2007), and Indiana (Lubeznic Art Center, Michigan Center, 2013). He is the head of Sculpture and Ceramics at Nazareth College of Rochester, where he is a full professor.
