McCallum Tarry

McCallum Tarry is a collaborative artist team consisting of Bradley McCallum and Jacqueline Tarry. They began creating work addressing social inequities in 1998. Through performance, video, sculpture and photography they examine the aesthetic beauty that masks the subject they explore.  Using source imagery in public photographic archives they re-examine records of social upheaval surrounding change instigated by the Civil Rights Movement.  Acting as curators, they highlight imagery that is sometimes recognizable as part of a national story and others times part of a local experience. 

McCallum holds an MFA from Yale and a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University. Tarry completed the Whitney ISP program in 2003 and holds a BA in Philosophy at Buffalo State College. They have exhibited globally. The couple lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
