Mary Ann Moncada, a native of Mexico, began her art studies in the United States when she came to this country in the mid-1970s. Graduating from West Liberty State College in 1979, she went on to acquire a Master of Arts degree from the West Virginia University, Morgantown, West Virginia.
Moncada has taught painting at West Virginia University and the Oglebay Institute in Wheeling. Since moving to Buffalo in 1982, she has done at conservation work.
Working in mixed media, she has had several group and one-person exhibitions in the mid-Atlantic states including the Anton Gallery in Washington, D.C. and the Monongalia Arts Center in Morgantown.
