Margaret Van Arsdale is a western New York artist who works in mixed media and other mediums. She graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. After exploring both the world and the region, she returned to school at Buffalo State College to receive her Masters in Art Education. In 2008, she spent three months at The Student Art League and it was a transformative experience for her. She taught art for twenty six years, including seven years at Genesee Community College. She also helps out at her family's dairy farm. Looking forward, Van Arsdale writes, "currently I am at a crossroad and I hope to set aside time to be a practicing artist."
About her connection with art, Van Arsdale writes, "I love how diverse art is, and how the boundaries are always being expanded...Creating and being creative is an innate human desire, I love to satisfy that need to be creative."
