Lin Xia Jiang is a painter and a professor at Buffalo State College. He has exhibited his work—including still lifes, portraits, and landscapes—nationally and internationally.
Born in the People’s Republic of China, Jiang earned a BA and MA in philosophy from Wuhan University in 1982 and 1985 respectively, and a BFA and MFA in painting and drawing from the University of Utah Art Department in 1989 and 1991 respectively. He is a professor at Buffalo State University, where he also coordinates the painting and drawing program. His work may be found in numerous private and public collections.
Of his work, Jiang once wrote, “I want my painting to be open to multiple interpretations, subtle but not weak, strong but not blatant, personal but not self-indulgent.” [1]
