Upon graduating from SUNY Buffalo State College, Larry Lundy moved to Chicago and worked as an illustrator, a copywriter, and backdrop mural painter, but it wasn’t until he completed a short film for Encyclopedia Britannica that the door was opened to the world of production design, art directing, set decoration and set design. He is known for crafting immersive, emotionally resonant environments for film and television. A founding member of Hallwalls in Buffalo, NY—alongside artists Cindy Sherman, Charles Clough, Nancy Dwyer, Robert Longo, and Michael Zwack—Lundy was deeply influenced by the center’s experimental ethos. Lundy continued to innovate through projects like DADADAY, Urban Animal, and The LOOP Show. Lundy has not been in any exhibits at the Art Center, although he proposed a two-person exhibition for Zwack and himself to be titled Bad Boys of Black Rock.
