Julie York is a ceramic artist who works in porcelain, glass and plastic. She earned a BFA from the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver, B.C. and an MFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at SUNY Alfred. Her work has been exhibited at places such as the Garth Clark Gallery in New York and Perimeter Gallery in Chicago. She has received many grants and honors including a Pew Fellowship in the Arts, a Window of Opportunity Grant from the Leeway Foundation, and two Creative Production Grants from the Canada Council. Her work is included in the permanent collections of the Huston Museum, the Schein Joseph International Museum of Art, the Burchfield Penney Art Center as well as private collections.
