Buffalo native John Yerger painted in the trompe l’oeil (fool the eye) tradition, paying homage to American masters such as William Harnett (1848-1892), John Frederick Peto (1854-1907), and John Haberle (1856-1933). He attended the Art Institute of Buffalo 1950-53 and the Vesper George School of Art in Boston, MA 1961-62. His highly realistic work has been exhibited in Boston, Santa Fe, Dallas, Litchfield, Connecticut, and in various venues in Western New York.
