John Mack is a Buffalo-based artist and educator working across sculpture, fibers, and installation. Born in Jamestown and raised in Frewsburg, NY, his practice explores the intersections of material, memory, and community. Using textiles and everyday objects, Mack treats materials as both tactile language and an archive of shared histories. His work often reflects on the role of art as a form of defiance and care, particularly within the LGBTQ+ community during and after the HIV/AIDS crisis. He holds an M.S. and B.S. from SUNY Buffalo State College and is pursuing his MFA in Studio Art at the University at Buffalo. Recent exhibitions include Inflated at The Crucible Art Collective, Sow: Exhibition Celebrating Fiber Art at Indigo Art Gallery, and the Sylvia L. Rosen Craft Art Biennial at the Burchfield Penney Art Center
