"As an artist, capturing the energy of nature is exciting and compelling. My goal is to communicate my reactions to nature’s beauty, including the energy and movement of water, leaves and wind, as well as, sound. My personal ongoing quest for continued growth in drawing and to understand form is complimented by the intuitive, interaction with each painting. I am inspired by the play of light and color on forms both natural and manmade. Color in nature is both varied and ever changing from the sun’s, moon’s and cloud’s movements. This changing light, reflected light, and shadows, and the mood they create draws me to be a dedicated painter, and on a personal level, the physical act of painting is an integral part of my being, my personality and my intellectual growth." -Jennifer Koury
