Ian Hamilton Finlay's poem, “King,” from Republican Institutions, 1990, was commissioned by The Poetry/Rare Books Collection on the occasion of the exhibition entitled “Robert Lax and Concrete Poetry” and was illustrated in the catalog. Robert Lax and Concrete Poetry, was organized by Nancy Weekly at the Burchfield Art Center in collaboration with The Poetry/Rare Books Collection, University Libraries, The University at Buffalo, and presented December 1, 1990-January 20, 1991.
