Heather Morris' works sculptural works are highly imaginative and create an outlet to express her emotions and move away from the challenges of daily life. "I have always had a strong tendency towards escapism, often turning to fairytales to avoid reality. This inclination is strongly illustrated in my work through imagery from fairytales, using them to confront the instances in life I often try to run from. In a way every piece is a self-portrait representing a feeling I've had or an experience I've encountered. My work expresses a sense of humor, irony, or sarcasm, which is also mirrored in my personality. My pieces directly reflect life as I have interpreted" (Morris).
Heather Morris was born and raised in western New York. She currently lives in San Diego, California though she notes that Buffalo is "the most amazing place to be in the Summer and will always mark my childhood." Morris graduated from the State University of New York College at Buffalo.
