Bio: Gerald Seals was born in Buffalo, NY, one of nine children of Reverend W.B. and Clara Seals. He attended local schools, beginning with public school # 37, now Futures academy, from Kindergarten to eighth grade. Southside Jr. High, in its initial freshman class, then graduating from South Park high school in 1970. He married, the former Deborah A Chatman, September 11th 1971, they have two children, and 3 grandchildren. After a 5year academic and on the job apprenticeship training program in the building trades, Gerald received Journeyman Steamfitter confirmation in 1975 and worked in the industry until 1983, then spent the next 27 years in the Telecommunications industry as a Service Technician, retiring in 2013. He has ,occasionally, done pencil sketches for relaxation and amusement, three years into retirement , after joining the Delavan Grider community center, and desiring to find a positive, productive activity, Gerald joined the art program in May of 2016, as a student of renowned artist, Mr. John Baker,. Finding some encouraging results in his efforts at acrylic painting, and a sense of optimism for a purposeful life after retirement, Mr. Seals hopes to make the creation of art a continuing pursuit.
