Frederic Marschall was a commercial photographer who created portraits of celebrities and visiting artists, such as famous musicians and conductors Semyon Bychkov, Michael Tilson Thomas, Jean-Pierre Rampal, Claudio Arrau and Vladimir Horowitz. He was President of the Buffalo Society of Artists in 1975 and also was a member of the Patteran Society. He was born in Heilbronn, Germany and studied dentistry at Wurzburg University before coming to the United States in 1934. His wife and business partner, the former Bernice Cohen, was also a photographer.
