Donna Jordan Dusel

(b. 1952)

Donna Jordan Dusel has been exhibiting her artwork and her photography work since receiving her MAH-[Masters of Arts in Humanities], from SUNY University at Buffalo in 1978. She has exhibited her photos in art galleries which include: The Buffalo AKG Art Museum (formerly the Albright-Knox Art Gallery), The Castellani Art Museum, Hallwalls, The Burchfield Penney Art Center, Art Dialogue Gallery, Kenan Center Gallery, CEPA Gallery, Carnegie Art Center, Big Orbit Gallery, Czurles-Nelson Gallery, Union Gate Gallery, The Theodore Roosevelt Site Gallery, Art Advice in NYC, among others. Her work was also shown in Beijing, China, included in the Buffalo State Faculty exhibition, 2013.
Donna's accomplishments include several published photographs, acceptance into over 175 juried art exhibitions, and over 40 awards for her photography work. She received an "American Photographer" Award in 1984. Donna taught photography, art, and writing courses at the college level from 1980 to 2016. She retired from D'Youville University in 2015, and she retired from SUNY Buffalo State University in 2016. Donna has been an exhibiting member of The Buffalo Society of Artists since 1980. She was the President of The Buffalo Society of Artists from 1999 to 2000. She was also President of the WNY branch of The National League of American Pen Women, from 1994 to 1998. Donna served as curator of the D'Youville College Library Gallery in 2001, where she curated professional watercolor exhibitions. For several years, Donna coordinated the D'Youville College/Leonardo daVinci School's student photography exhibitions.
She also coordinated several Buffalo State student photography exhibitions. She has also served as a juror for many professional and student art exhibitions. Donna has participated in several public art projects in WNY, including "Herd About Buffalo", "Take-A-Seat", "Art Unleashed," and "Peep Show" for Squeaky Wheel. Donna has appeared on many local television shows, including "Business of Buffalo", "Music is Art LIVE", and PBS art programs - including the "Herd About Buffalo" documentary. Donna & her husband, Robert, are former members of the Burchfield Penney Art Collectors. She also served on the Roswell Park Alliance Art Committee. Donna also served as a former trustee for the Buffalo Society of Artists.
