David Buck is an oil painter based in the Buffalo-Amherst region. He was originally born in Rochester, NY, but has been living and working in Buffalo since 1984. Over the course of his expansive career, Buck worked as an illustrator, designer, art director and creative director.
He served as the President and Creative Director of Crowley Webb for over 30 years, bringing his skills and creativity as an artist to the company’s creative department. He has influenced and inspired many of the people he’s worked with, leaving behind a lasting legacy on the company. Since retiring form Crowley Webb, Buck’s time is now spent focused on traveling, spending time with family and friends, and painting.
Buck’s work is inspired by his family history; his paintings are often reinterpretations of old family photos and memories. He uses a range of brushstrokes “to capture the emotion of fleeting moments.”[1]
He has exhibited regionally, his work featured in shows at the Kenan Center in Lockport, NY, Studio Hart Gallery in Buffalo, NY and the Burchfield Penney Art Center. He is also a resident artist and has exhibited at the Buffalo Arts Studio.
