"Whether working in oil paint or acrylic, my work is a physical result of many years of studying techniques such as the Hudson River School, Traditional Chiaroscuro Technique and Surrealism Fundamentals. My art is a result of my imagination and hours of contemplation." [1]
- Coni Minneci
"Award winning artist Coni Minneci is known for her creative concepts in painting: from miniatures to voersized 4 x 6 feet panels, in both oil and acrylic. She is an accomplished contemporary realist painter. Ms. Minneci is also an art instructor from the Western New York area. Her passion for art led her to achieve College degrees in both Graphic Design and Studio Arts/Painting.
Minneci's work has been sold through many commercial galleries and art centers in the United States and is currently being represented by Tom McCabe and Jeff Holloway, owners of Eminent Design Gallery, Sonoma California.
Her work is enjoyed in hundreds of private and corporate collections, in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Japan. Catalogs from her series: "A to Z: An Historical Survey of Women Artists" can be found in various research libraries including the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington D.C.
"Her work has been described as startlingly beautiful in whatever format she chooses, from her miniatures to her over scale panels, from oil to acrylic. She has the ability to capture one's imagination and attention."" [1]
Coni Minneci was born in Buffalo in 1950. She is a third generation Buffalonian, and including her daughter’s new family, makes it five generations in the Western New York area. Coni grew up in Tonawanda, NY, moved to Williamsville, Chagrin Falls, Ohio, back to Clarence, NY, and now resides, with her husband of almost 40 years back in Tonawanda. She worked briefly in Advertising, then freelance illustration for 30 years and now works in fine art as an artist and art instructor in oil and acrylic painting. She received a BA in Graphic Design from Buffalo State College and later earned a BA in Studio Arts/Concentration in Painting from SUNY Empire College. Active in the arts, Minneci is past President of the Buffalo Society of Artists. A true Buffalo native at heart, Coni refers to four years she spent living in Ohio as “an extended little vacation” and was glad to be back with family and friends in WNY.
