Christine Knoblauch

Christine Knoblauch is a Rochester, NY born and based sculptor who primarily works with steel and other metals to create functional art objects. She spent her childhood on the shores of Lake Ontario in upstate New York, an experience which continues to influence her adult work.

 After exposure to many other media, she was drawn to working with metal because, as she put it in a biographical statement on her website, "It is an amazing material that allows you to bend, twist, and create something fluid and beautiful out of what others might perceive as unusable." [1]

Knoblauch's work can be found in public and private collections around the world and has been exhibited in Rochester, Miami, New York City, Santa Fe, and Washington D.C. She was featured in the 2011 and 2013 Art in Craft Media group shows at the Burchfield Penney.

Since 1996, she and her husband, Paul Knoblauch, have owned and operated Knoblauch Studios, providing studio and gallery space for other artists in the Rochester area. Metropolitan magazine featured an article on the Knoblauchs in its Winter 2010 edition.
