Charles Rohlfs (1853-1936) was known as one of America's "most original and thoroughly artistic" furniture designers. He was a craftsman associated with the Arts & Crafts Movement known for unique designs that incorporated organic, nature-inspired forms in both structure and ornamentation in a style that often mixes Art Nouveau and Gothic aesthetics. He also designed domestic objects, like candlesticks, lamps, bookracks, and frames for paintings.
